Visual Arts Group Wales (VAGW) is holding one Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshop that aims to help artists understand how to best represent themselves and their work. This event is a direct response to VAGW’s latest survey ‘COVID-19 and visual arts in Wales’ focusing on one of the three major priorities identified. This workshop will allow individuals to identify where and how their work is best positioned.
In attending this event you will be able to :
- Hear from artists, curators, and venue managers about their experiences in the sector;
- Understand the different conversations that take place between artists and venues, how do artists present themselves to buildings / venues?
- Identify the various spaces and platforms where art work can be displayed, seen and appreciated.
- Question the position of your work and the relationship it has or may have with a particular venue or space when exhibiting – how does environment contribute to the value of art?
This workshop will be made up of a panel of artists, curators and venue managers who all have a variety of different experiences of the sector.
If you had to talk about your practice what would you say?
Where does your art belong?
